There was a major collision with Evans, whose helmet appeared to catch Austin along her eyebrow. Austin sustained a significant gash above her left eye and headed to the doctor for stitches.
Before she left, Evans ran over to the J-D dugout between innings to check on Austin.
"I felt really bad because it looked really bad," said the ESM player. "I said, sorry and everything. She said, it's fine, like no big deal."

Jamesville-DeWitt scored one run in the fourth, two in the fifth and one in the sixth - all with two outs. Julia Fairbanks had a two-run single that gave the Red Rams a 5-3 lead in the bottom of the fifth.
ESM rallied for two runs in the top of the fourth and two more in the sixth with two outs. The final rally began with a Ventrone single and no one on base. Courtney Lagare delivered a two-run single that tied the game for the Spartans.

Emily Clapper is a left-handed hitter who specializes in slap hits. She slapped a stinging single to left starting the winning rally for J-D.
